Something we can all agree on is that the year 2020 is one to remember for a variety of reasons. It is etched in our memories and will be a story of a generation about how life as we knew it stood still and we all became home-schooling and baking experts. Looking back to March it is hard to believe how far we have all come and have developed a resilience to the unknown.
Leaving a career after 15 years seemed a good idea at the time until job vacancies were being put on hold and the world started to feel very uncertain. Not being a natural risk taker, I was not looking at the situation as an opportunity. It was scary and unsettling. As sisters living alone, we made the decision to join our family unit to create certainty in the environment we found ourselves in. Jessica left Bristol and came to North Essex. This gave us a starting block, it didn't matter what was happening outside our 4 walls as we were a unit, stronger together and then the brain storming began!
We decided we wanted to own a farm, being close to nature and having a self sufficient lifestyle was the answer to our uncertainty. Well...after watching a few farming shows highlighting the real work that was involved, Jessica wasn't so sure and when we looked at the prices of a farms we realised it wasn't meant to be....just now anyway!
